Donald Gildersleeve's personal scrapbook contains poems and other writing by him, clippings on local topics, 19505s, World War I memorabilia, and material on Charles Gildersleeve who worked for the Long Island Rail Road; also, letters from Donald after retirement in Peru, N.Y., 1980-1985. There is a history of the Mattituck Presbyterian Church, 1960; programs and poetry of the Mattituck Literary Society, ca. 1921; programs of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics, 1901, and of the Mattituck Lecture Association, 1909-1910; and miscellaneous clippings, 1866-1923.

Church organized in 1715. In 1752, the parishes of Mattituck and Aquebogue united and were officially incorporated as Union Parish in 1817. Union Parish as a corporate entity dissolved in 1853.
